Things to do and see in Zandvoort

Whether you’re looking for peace and quiet or for some bustle… Zandvoort offers it all. Every year more than 4 million tourists visit this classic seaside resort, amongst whom are many couples and families with children. They come for the 9 kilometers beach, 3800 hectares of dunes, over 240 restaurants, bars et cetera and many activities. Here are just a few ideas:

• Watch a race at Circuit Park Zandvoort
• Go to Holland Casino for ‘a perfect night out’
• Take your children to the “ Jutters mu-ZEE-um “
• Go deer spotting in the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen (Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes)
• Learn to surf or kitesurf on the North Sea
• Dance during one of the many summer festivals
• Enjoy a sunset-dinner at 1 of the 36 beach tents

In The Area: Haarlem & Amsterdam

Haarlem
Haarlem, ‘the best shopping town of the Netherlands’, is only 10 kilometers away from Zandvoort. By train it will take you less than 15 minutes to get there. In Haarlem you will find many shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as impressive courtyards, old buildings, churches and museums. Haarlem has a beautiful historic city centre.

Amsterdam
Our buzzing national capital is well known for both its canals, old houses and museums, and its many coffeeshops and the red light district. By train it will take you less than 30 minutes to get straight to the city centre. Enjoy (or avoid!) the main shopping street Kalverstraat, visit the completely renovated Rijksmuseum or take a picnic basket to the Vondelpark. There are plenty of things to do!
